    1. PURPOSE.
    This Mission Statement shall set the direction and goals of ZLA.

    2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
    The Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for this Mission Statement is the ZLA Facility Advisory Board. This Mission Statement was originally drafted by David Hendleman, ZLA Facility Chief on November 27, 2002. This Mission Statement shall be maintained, revised, updated or cancelled by the ZLA Facility Advisory Board or any organization that supersedes, replaces or assumes the FAB responsibilities. Any suggestions for modification/amendment to this Mission Statement should be sent to the FAB for review.

    3. DISTRIBUTION.
    Entire ZLA Staff.

    4. BACKGROUND.
    This Mission Statement was crafted in order to lay the foundation for controller and program development within ZLA.

    5. MISSION STATEMENT.
    The mission of the Los Angeles ARTCC is to:

    1. Provide safe and efficient air traffic services to simulated air traffic on the VATSIM network.
    2. Provide as realistic a simulated ATC environment as possible.
    3. Accommodate special requests when able.
    4. Provide a supportive and highly-educational environment for the training of simulated air traffic controllers.
    5. Train controllers to use real-world procedures and phraseology.
    6. Train controllers to perform simulated ATC services on as close a level to real-world ATC as possible.
    7. Maintain a concise roster of respectful, highly-motivated, well-trained, and experienced controllers.
    8. Maintain a positive, safe, welcoming environment for all facility members
